Bottled drinking water is a practical choice to meet the needs of body fluids wherever they are. Although available in packs that are quite similar, not infrequently bottled drinking water has a different taste to each other.
It is influenced by differences in sources and water treatment process before it is finally put in the packaging. These differences affect the taste and content of the bottled water you buy.
Based on U.S Food And Medicine Administration (FDA), bottled water is divided into several groups, namely
1. Spring Water
Spring water is water that comes from underground formations, where water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. To be classified as spring water, water must be obtained in spring.
Spring water is considered the purest water, free from various chemicals and hazardous substances. This type of water is enriched by the mineral content of the rocks through which the flow of water, which is beneficial both for the health of the body.
2. Purified Water
Drinking water of this type of packaging has gone through several processes, such as distillation, deionization or reverse osmosis filtration method. The process removes bacteria and dissolved substances in water, so the water becomes pure. Typically, this type of drinking water is labeled "purified drinking water", "reverse osmosis drinking water" or "distilled drinking water".
3. Mineral Water
Mineral water is water that has mineral content, whether it is natural or artificial. This type of water also contains minerals and chemicals obtained from the rocks as the water processes flow naturally.
4. Sparkling Water
This type of drinking water contains carbon dioxide, which makes it carbonated (carbonated) in the absence of calories. Sparkling water is usually labeled "sparkling drinking water", "sparkling mineral water" or "sparkling spring water".
5. Artesian Water / Artesian Well Water
It is water that comes from beneath the layer of rocks in the soil. This type of water is usually drained through a wellbore.
6. Well Water
This type of water obviously comes from a deliberate hole in the ground.
7. Municipal / Tap Water
Drinking water of this type of packaging comes from the tap at home or office. Municipal or tap water only exist in some countries in the world.
