Which is Healthier, Honey or Low Calorie Sugar?



Honey is often an alternative to natural sweetener sugar substitute because it is considered more healthy. However, there is currently also a sweetener or low-calorie sugar is considered to be one of the healthiest sugar substitute sweetener, Stevia. This low-calorie sweetener is the result of extracts from the leaves of Stevia Rebaudiana.

2. Calories

One of the biggest problems in eating sweet foods or beverages is the high calorie content because of the carbohydrates contained in the sweetener. Stevia does not contain calories, whereas honey actually has a calorie content slightly above ordinary sugar.

3. Nutrition

Honey is known to be rich in nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, folic acid, niacin, riboflavin, minerals, and vitamin B6. While Stevia does not contain vitamins or minerals.

Both honey and low-calorie sugar (stevia) have their respective advantages and disadvantages. The selection of sweeteners in the food and drink menu should be tailored to the needs of your body. If you are diabetic, stevia sweeteners are more advisable than honey because it does not increase blood sugar levels.
